Description

During this bilingual conversation, faculty members Nicholas Ng-A-Fook and Claude Quevillon Lacasse, both editors of the Canadian Journal of Education (CJE), will share insights and thoughts about the process of journal publishing. Targeting graduate students interested in publishing their work in scholarly journals in the field of education, this workshop will provide practical tips to ease the publishing process. The session will also offer guidance on how to mobilize different kinds of research contributions such as, but not limited to book reviews, knowledge synthesis reviews, empirical studies, conceptual and philosophical essays, and forms of writing more representative of the humanities including autoethnographic and autobiographical works toward successful peer-reviewed publication.

Assistant professor

Claude Quevillon Lacasse is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa. She is interested in the development of bi- /plurilingual competencies, meta-/crosslinguistic awareness, crosslinguistic pedagogy, grammar teaching and writing instruction, particularly through children's literature, and teacher training. She currently holds the position of French editor for the Canadian Journal of Education (CJE).

Nicholas Ng-A-Fook is Professor of Curriculum Studies at the University of Ottawa. His research is situated and spans across fields of study such as but not limited to curriculum studies, colonial studies, life writing, and history education. He is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the CSSE Herbert T. Coutts Distinguished Service Award (2024). He currently holds the position of English editor for the Canadian Journal of Education (CJE).
