Lou
The Faculty of Social Sciences is proud to congratulate Lou Raisonnier, a doctoral candidate at the School of Political Studies, on being selected as the recipient of the prestigious Cadieux-Léger Fellowship, awarded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

The Cadieux-Léger Fellowship is one of Canada's most distinguished opportunities for doctoral researchers working on issues related to international affairs and foreign policy. Awarded annually to a single doctoral student from across the country, the fellowship provides recipients with the opportunity to contribute directly to policy research and development within Global Affairs Canada's Open Insights Hub. Fellows work alongside policy experts, conduct research, prepare policy briefs, and participate in discussions that help shape Canada's international engagement.

Lou's selection is a testament to the excellence and relevance of her doctoral research. Currently in the fourth year of her PhD at the University of Ottawa's School of Political Studies, Lou's work examines how French security and administrative institutions respond to the return of women formerly associated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Her research sheds light on complex questions surrounding security, reintegration, governance, and international policy.

An emerging scholar with an impressive international profile, Lou has presented her research at leading academic institutions and conferences, including Sorbonne Université, Columbia University's Harriman Institute, the University of Naples Federico II, and the International Studies Association conference.

Through the Cadieux-Léger Fellowship, Lou will have the opportunity to further contribute her expertise to Canada's foreign policy community while gaining valuable experience at the intersection of academic research and public policy. The fellowship supports doctoral researchers whose work addresses issues of importance to Canada's international priorities and provides a unique platform for knowledge mobilization and policy impact.

The Faculty of Social Sciences extends its warmest congratulations to Lou on this remarkable achievement and wishes her continued success as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.
