With its booth at the Canadian Science Policy Conference 2022 (CSPC2022), taking place from November 16 to 18, 2022, the University of Ottawa, a vital partner in shaping Canada's public and scientific policies, will showcase its research centres and institutes, whose researchers particularly focus on public policy issues.
It will highlight Alex Trebek Forum for Dialogue initiative “Smart changes for a better world”: three interdisciplinary projects on water governance, artificial intelligence in health care and on human rights policy.
University of Ottawa researchers are hosting a plenary session: Machine M.D.: AI for our Future Health, November 16, 10:30 am. The panelists will discuss their research program of workshopping case studies with a multidisciplinary group (legal, clinical, computer science, engineering, ethics) of a range of health-related AI across healthcare settings.
Also as part of the University of Ottawa’s participation at CSPC 2022, uOttawa’s Institute for Science, Society and Policy (ISSP) will host a virtual session “Implementing equity, diversity, and inclusiveness (EDI) in Canadian science policy: What have we learned so far? What is the path forward? Thursday, November 3, 12:00 pm.
In this panel, seasoned and emergent leaders discuss the current state of play on EDI in Canada’s science policy community: What have we learned so far? What worked? What did not? How can we address the challenges ahead?
The University’s Vice-President, Research and Innovation, Sylvain Charbonneau, will share his vision of public policy and the direction of research at the University of Ottawa through a bilingual interview accessible to delegates throughout the conference.
