About the Conference

The Music and Health Research Institute (MHRI) is opening its 4th annual conference (Apr 27 to 30, 2026) to proposals for oral presentations and posters as well as round tables and workshops highlighting research and outstanding practices at the intersection of music and health. Key dates: 
January 15, 2026 – Deadline for submissions for oral presentations, workshops and roundtables 
February 15, 2026 – Notification of acceptance for oral presentations, workshops and roundtables
March 1, 2026 – Deadline for submissions for poster presentations
March 15, 2026 – Notification of acceptance for poster presentations
April 27 to 30, 2026 – Conference 

Call for Abstracts 
We invite you to submit proposals for oral presentations, poster papers, workshops and roundtables covering a wide range of topics including in the following research themes:

  • Therapeutic impact of music - Developing innovative clinical practices.
  • Music, medicine and mind - Examining the impact of music on sensory, cognitive, physical and mental health.
  • Music learning and teaching - Developing innovative learning and teaching practices with health and wellness frameworks.
  • Music, health, culture and society - Creating community well-being through inclusive music practices.
  • Musicians’ health and wellness - Strategies and training to support musicians’ health and well-being (physical / mental / emotional).
  • Other topics at the intersection of music and health.
