About the Event :
In collaboration with the Centre on Governance, the Konrad Adenauer Research Chair in Empirical Democracy Studies is pleased to host the talk “Youth and Voting (Age): An Institutional and Behavioral Look at Germany,” in partnership with the Centre on Governance.
This presentation by Thorsten Faas will explore the political influence of young people and examine how their share of the electorate, turnout levels, and voting homogeneity shape their overall impact on democratic outcomes.
Using Germany as a case study, the talk will also address recent reforms to voting ages at different levels of government and discuss whether lowering the voting age may enhance political engagement or introduce new challenges.
