The University of Ottawa Arctic Research Hub is a bold new initiative designed to address the urgent and complex challenges facing the Arctic region.

As a national leader in Arctic science, uOttawa is leveraging its interdisciplinary strengths to foster innovative, inclusive and impactful research that bridges science, policy and Indigenous knowledge systems.

Launched as a three-year pilot project, the Hub connects and amplifies existing Arctic research while catalyzing new collaborations across faculties, communities and borders.

Our vision is to be a global leader in equitable, co-produced Arctic research, education and policy development in order to contribute to sustainable solutions for Arctic communities and ecosystems.

The Hub is led by a director who reports to the vice-dean of research at the Faculty of Arts, supported by:

  • An executive committee to provide strategic oversight
  • Advisory committees to represent Indigenous, Inuit and industry perspectives
  • A dedicated administrative team and University-wide support systems
