University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute is Hosting its 3rd Annual “Rockin' with the Docs Event”

Rockin' with the docs
The University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI) is pleased to announce the return of its 3rd annual Rockin' with the Docs fundraiser on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Rainbow Bistro in the Byward Market. This lively event will welcome back to the stage Phenotype, a talented band of clinical and research professionals from the University of Ottawa, The Ottawa Hospital, and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, as well as 50 PROOF for the opening set.

Rockin' with the Docs is an evening dedicated towards raising awareness and support to graduate students enrolled in the Master’s, PhD or MD-PhD programs who are continuing their training in brain health research. Last year, the event raised enough funds to award a $10,000 scholarship that will transform a trainee’s novel research idea into a pilot project. Such opportunities have the potential of leading to further project funding or important research discoveries, shaping the future in brain and mind health. Hear from our recipient of Rockin’ with the Docs Scholarship below.

“I'm very honored to receive the Rockin' with the Docs Scholarship. This support moves us closer to finding better ways to improve the lives of patients affected by Alzheimer's disease.”

– Fatima Nour Eddine, graduate student from the lab of Dr. Stephen Ferguson

This year, help us double our goal into 2 scholarships valued at $20,000. We are excited to announce that with the support from a uOBMRI clinician scientist, we have a match of up to $10,000. Join us for an evening of great music and community support and be part of a vital cause driving discovery and hope for the future of brain and mind research.
