Drawing on this collaboration, Eric Champagne, Joe Faragone and Doaa Saddek will discuss the tangible benefits and practical challenges of building bridges between academic research and professional communities of practice. They will explore how such collaborations can:

  • Enhance the relevance and impact of research on public policy
  • Generate new research questions grounded in real-world challenges
  • Foster sustained dialogue between researchers and practitioners
  • Create meaningful opportunities for students

Eric Champagne, PhD

Eric Champagne is a professor of public administration at the School of Political Studies and director of the Centre on Governance at the University of Ottawa. He is also the president of the board of directors of the Performance and Planning Exchange (PPX).

Joe Faragone is the Department of Political Science’s Public Administration Scholar-In-Residence at Concordia University. He holds a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Ottawa. He is also an ex officio member of the board of directors of the Performance and Planning Exchange (PPX).

Doaa Saddek

Doaa Saddek, PhD

Speaker bio

Doaa Saddek is a director of business management services at the Government of Canada. She holds a PhD in public policy from Carleton University. She is also the vice president, strategy of the board of directors at the Performance and Planning Exchange (PPX).
