Angelica Kalubiaka, a Franco-Ontarian community leader based in Ottawa and a soon-to-be Master of Arts graduate from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA ’26), has been elected Curator of the Ottawa Global Shapers Hub for the 2026–2027 term.

Starting July 1, 2026, she will lead a cohort of over 30 young professionals committed to advancing equity, sustainability, and inclusive development in Canada’s National Capital Region and beyond. A member of the Global Shapers Community since April 2022, Kalubiaka has been actively engaged in initiatives that drive local and global impact.

The Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, is a global network of young leaders working to address pressing challenges and improve the state of the world. Founded in 2014, the Ottawa Hub is one of Canada’s most active, bringing together 34 members dedicated to community-driven change.

As part of her new role, Kalubiaka will attend the Global Shapers Annual Summit in Geneva this summer, joining fellow leaders from around the world to strengthen collaboration and shape priorities for the year ahead.

Her election highlights Ottawa’s growing influence in global youth leadership and marks an exciting step forward in her continued commitment to public service and impact.
