Are you a faculty member, librarian, or instructional staff who champions open scholarship at uOttawa? The uOttawa Library launches its annual Open Scholarship Award to recognize your contributions and give you the chance to receive $4,000 to support your work.

About the Open Scholarship Award

Established in 2016, The Open Scholarship Award was created by the Library and is co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (OVPRI) to recognize leaders who champion open scholarship at uOttawa, encompassing open access, open data, and open educational resources in both teaching and research.

Open scholarship takes many forms: from professors who make their syllabi and course materials available online, to researchers who develop open-source software, source code and hardware.

Who can apply

Faculty members, librarians, and instructional staff (full-time or part-time) at uOttawa are eligible. Candidates should have demonstrated a recent commitment to open scholarship practices within the past two years.

The award

The winner receives $4,000 deposited into their general research account to support continued open scholarship work.
