Since joining the Student Affairs team in 2023, Rachel has turned safety from a compliance requirement into a core operational value.
Rachel conducts weekly courtesy inspections and monthly formal audits, engaging directly with staff to identify issues and provide real-time coaching. Her efforts have standardized preventive practices across all food service locations, reducing risks and ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
Beyond inspections, Rachel works with external suppliers and contractors to uphold consistent safety protocols, fostering a unified approach to risk management.
Her influence extends to building a culture of accountability and care. Rachel leads by example, encouraging open communication and empowering staff to take ownership of safety. Thanks to her dedication, food handling practices have improved, awareness has increased and operational risks have been minimized.
Rachel’s professionalism, attention to detail and collaborative approach make her a deserving leader in health and safety. Congratulations, Rachel, for your commitment to creating a safe and healthy environment for students, staff and visitors.
