Lenny Sabourin, Manager, Recreation and facility development
The University of Ottawa Recreation and Varsity Sports (RVS) sector is proud to officially announce the appointment of Lenny Sabourin to the role of Manager, Recreation and Facility Development.

Lenny brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in campus recreation and facility operations at uOttawa, with a proven track record in strategic planning, program development, client service delivery, and financial and staff management.

After 25 years of working alongside an incredible RVS team, I look forward to continuing to foster inclusive, innovative, and engaging recreational experiences to contribute to the university journey. This new chapter is an opportunity to build on our strong foundation and create spaces that inspire well-being and connection.”

He is a strong leader that cares passionately about the health and wellness of our participants and our staff, and I know he will thrive in guiding our recreation team to continued success.”

Lenny takes on this new role as the successor to Colin Timm, who recently announced his retirement from uOttawa. Lenny previously served as the Supervisor, Recreation Programs for the past four years, and as the Head of Fitness, Instructional, Recreational, and Outdoor Programs from 2004 to 2021. He first joined the Sport Services team at the university in 2001.

Lenny holds a Master of Arts in Human Kinetics (2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (2002), both from the University of Ottawa. He was also a longtime assistant coach with the Gee-Gees varsity women’s volleyball team.
