These can’t-miss Homecoming events hosted by the Alumni Relations Office allow everyone to experience our long-standing history. Enduring relationships are formed through mentorship, through the various workshops and through many other activities. This explains the genuine feeling of community we have built.
Discover the many facets of the job market
For current students, Homecoming is much more than a series of social get-togethers. It offers a perfect opportunity to prepare for the job market and their future careers by tapping into a solid network and taking part in an impressive number of activities to build their contact lists.
Interactive workshop participants can hone essential career skills. Hosted by experts from various fields, these workshops provide an opportunity to become more familiar with job market trends and learn specific strategies to succeed in this constantly evolving environment.
The Career Expo is a deep dive into the job market with direct links to employers. During this key event, employers gain access to a large pool of promising candidates while recent alumni and current students gain real-world experience that brings them closer to their career goals.
Ten Thousand Coffees is an online networking and mentoring platform that takes a different approach by matching former and current students. These inter-generational mentors guide students in their careers, thus creating a solid bridge between generations.
The Entrepreneurship Hub focuses on innovation and sets up meetings with those who share a vision or dream of starting a business. It groups together a host of different activities to meet various entrepreneurial needs: starting up, matching, generating ideas and solutions, solving interdisciplinary challenges, and many more.
Activities that are open to the public
During Homecoming, everyone can discover the wealth and diversity of the careers pursued by uOttawa alumni and dive deep into the larger University community. Many activities are open to the general public.
Some of the signature events you won’t want to miss include:
- BougeBouge Race
- 2024 Germain Brière Conference: Indigenous Rights and Governance
