The School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS) at the Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to join its team as Executive Director of the Global Development Policy and Practice Hub.
This newly created Hub is an innovative initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world development practice. Working in collaboration with partners from Canada and the Global South, the Hub will offer professional training programs, publish policy briefs and analysis on global development issues, and host public events connecting scholars, practitioners, and decision-makers.
Reporting to the Director of SIDGS, the Executive Director will play a key role in providing strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the Hub while ensuring its visibility and sustainability nationally and internationally. Main responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing professional development programs and courses;
Building strategic partnerships with academic, governmental, and private sector organizations;
Managing the Hub’s finances and human resources;
Overseeing operations and maintaining a high standard of professionalism and quality;
Designing and promoting innovative training offerings in collaboration with the Faculty’s communications and marketing team.
This is a part-time contractual position (21 hours per week) for one year (November 16, 2025, to November 15, 2026), with the possibility of renewal. The annual salary ranges from $60,000 to $67,500, based on experience.
The ideal candidate will hold a graduate degree in international development or a related field, possess at least seven years of management and leadership experience, and have a strong background in international development policy or practice. Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
