First Place – Audrey Roy
MSc Environmental Sustainability, Faculty of Social Sciences
Audrey Roy claimed first place for her compelling and interdisciplinary research project focused on sustainability in protected natural spaces. Drawing on political, economic, social, environmental, and legal perspectives, Audrey’s work aims to help Banff National Park become Canada’s first zero-waste national park. Her research highlights how sustainability is not only achievable but essential for preserving the natural places Canadians cherish.
Third Place – Eleni Dubé-Zinatelli
PhD Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences
Eleni Dubé-Zinatelli earned third place for her research exploring the relationship between polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and women’s mental health. By examining an often overlooked condition, Eleni’s work has the potential to inform improved care and support for women affected by PCOS, contributing to more inclusive and responsive mental health practices.
The uOGRADflix competition showcases the creativity and research excellence of graduate students by encouraging them to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to the public. Audrey and Eleni’s achievements reflect both their dedication and the strength of graduate research within the Faculty of Social Sciences.
