Dr. Adam Shuhendler was recently featured in a University of Ottawa news article for receiving the Melanie O’Neil New Investigator Award for his research in early disease discovery. His novel imaging techniques allow for the detection of inflammation which is associated with serious diseases such as heart failure and Alzheimer’s. His research model will soon be trialed on humans in Ottawa and Germany.

This prestigious award is given to a scientist in Canada who has made a distinguished contribution to biological chemistry or biophysical methods. It honor’s the legacy of the late researcher, Melanie O’Neil, whose work was dedicated to supporting bold, boundary-defying research.
