Business & human rights: Updates from Europe and beyond
Webinar series on Business & Human Rights
Apr 8, 2026 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) and the International Law Association of Canada (ILA Canada) are pleased to be collaborating on a webinar series on Business & Human Rights, a multidisciplinary field of research that examines the human rights and environmental implications of business activity and considers how to prevent and redress such harm. It is also an area of social advocacy, legal practice, and consultancy.
Business & human rights: Updates from Europe and beyond
Our experts will discuss the watering down of the EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the implications for state human rights due diligence laws and for victims of business-related human rights violations across Europe and beyond, as well as the potential effect this will have on the Business and Human Rights Treaty being negotiated at the United Nations.
