Erin Parkes, from the University of Ottawa and Lotus Centre for Special Music Education, alongside Matthew Breaden of Western Sydney University, have been awarded a SSHRC Insight Development Grant of $40,537!
The funding is for a two-year project with a primary objective to define the pedagogical practices in adaptive music education through data collection at two internationally renowned adaptive music education centres, Drake Music in Edinburgh and Resonaari in Helsinki.
The second phase of the funded project will allow the researchers to develop and deliver professional development resources and courses for music educators based on their findings, building capacity and contributing to best practice in the sector.
