University of Ottawa students had another stellar year at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot championship. A runner-up finish for uOttawa’s Fox mooters in the 2019 finals adds another accolade for the school. That makes six straight semi-finals, four finals appearances, and three Fox Cups in the past six years.

The Canadian Association of Legal Ethics (CALE) has recently appointed Associate Professor Amy Salyzyn as President in a unanimous decision following the resignation of Alice Woolley on her appointment to the bench.

Elizabeth Dubois, member of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society and Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa is the lead author on “Social Media and Political Engagement in Canada”, a new report being launched today on the political uses of social media.

Professor Teresa Scassa just published Law and the “Sharing Economy”: Regulating Online Market Platforms, a new book co-edited by Derek McKee of the Université de Montréal and Finn Makela of the Université de Sherbrooke.

On November 27th, 2018, Professor Michael Geist and Jeremy de Beer, members of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society, appeared before the House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage (CHPC).
