On February and March 2026, the Centre for Law, Technology and Society at the University of Ottawa hosted the fifth edition of the Copyright Policy Moot organized with Canadian Heritage and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

Teams from University of Windsor, University of Manitoba, Osgoode Hall, York University, the University of Toronto and the University of Ottawa  defended policy proposals before public servants from Canadian Heritage and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, including from the Copyright Board of Canada.

Following a first round of online briefings in February 2026, four teams were invited to present their policy proposals to senior public servants on March 20, 2026.
